A range of assessments are available through New Life Psychology Services. Currently, these include:

Educational Assessments:

Standard Educational Assessment

An IQ and achievement assessment, used to better understand a child’s cognitive functioning and current achievement level. This is the starting place of diagnosis of a range or disorders, including Global Delay, Intellectual Disability, and Learning Disorders or Difficulties. These assessments help inform schools regarding curriculum differentiation and targeted interventions. 

Comprehensive Educational and Behavioural Assessment

This assessment includes all of the Standard Educational Assessment, and adds in a broad behavioural assessment with it. The Behavioural assessment spans many categories, including attitude to school and teachers, self esteem, peer relationships, anxiety, depression, aggression, leadership and more. 

This is the most common assessment parents generally choose for their children.

Dyslexia/learning disorders

This assessment includes all of the Standard Educational Assessment, and adds further achievement-based subtests that helps diagnosis Dyslexia.

Behavioural Assessment

Standard Behavioural Assessment 

This assessment is the behaviour-only component of what was described in the  Comprehensive Educational and Behavioural Assessment above. It therefore is assessing many categories including attitude to school and teachers, self esteem, peer relationships, anxiety, depression, aggression, leadership and more.

ADHD Assessment

This assessment is used as part of the diagnostic process of ADHD. 

ASD Screening assessment

This assessment can be used for two purposes:

1. As a preliminary screening assessment to see if a person has characteristics most likely learning to a diagnosis of ASD
2. To pinpoint particular aspects/symptoms of ASD in order to more effectively inform treatment

**Please note – this is not a full ASD diagnostic assessment**

Other Assessments

This can include for the purposes of WorkCover claims, accidents, victims of crime, as well as individual disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and others.

ALL assessments include a comprehensive written report of the results.
